Baseball begins season 2-0
The team attacked the Titans quickly, scoring four runs in first inning, seven runs in the second and eight runs in the third. They followed up with one run in the fourth.
At the plate, the Vikes had 20 hits and drove in sixteen runs. Senior Sam Sharpe led the offense by going three for four at plate with four RBIs. Also, Michael Flack contributed three RBIs and James Dionne continued had two.
Along with their hot hitting, the Vikes kept their pitching dominant: Flack threw two innings of no-hit baseball and got relief from Ryan McGill, Ross “Peanut” Peterson and Sam Sharpe.
Although Einstein was not a tough opponent, the Vikes gained valuable innings of testing out different players at different positions. With the confidence of the team rising and all players playing in game situations the team looks to continue their winning streak on Monday at Clarksburg. Game time is set at 12pm.
