The Black and White is published 12 times a year by the students of Walt Whitman High School, 7100 Whittier Blvd., Bethesda, MD 20817. The Black and White is an open forum for student views. The newspaper aims to both inform and entertain. Recent awards include the 2004 MSPA / Washington Post Advisor of the Year Award, 2004 and 2005 NSPA Pacemaker Online Award Finalist, 2002 Pacemaker Award, 2004 Quill & Scroll George H. Gallup Award, and the 2004 NSPA All-American Award.
