Triangle Blog: Experimental NCAA lacrosse rules
Last weekend, three D-1 lacrosse fall-ball games experimented with new rules aimed at increasing the pace of play by speeding up offense and forcing transitions. These new rules include quicker restarts, adjusted counts, horn-only substitutions, adjusted man-down faceoffs and the much-anticipated shot clock.

Triangle Blog: Cristiano Ronaldo’s ego
Cristiano Ronaldo passes from stadium to stadium, constantly being booed by fans. Ronaldo’s reasoning for fans’ hatred: “because I am rich, handsome and a great player, people are envious of me. I don't have any other explanation." After that, he went on to detail how he also needs more protection from refs so that a great player such as himself doesn’t get “mauled.”

Triangle Blog: Alternative careers for NBA players during lockout
As the NBA lockout continues, players are taking up alternative professions to keep the pay checks rolling in. Some star players like Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett have expressed interest in playing overseas, and Nuggets stars J.R. Smith and Wilson Chandler have already made the leap to sign with Chinese teams. But there’s a catch: if the NBA returns for the 2010 season, Smith and Chandler won’t be able to play until their Chinese seasons are over in March.
