Whitman soccer player takes part in Tiffany Cup tournament
Once a year, boys soccer teams from around the world travel to D.C. to compete in the U17 International Amateur Soccer Tournament – the Challenge for the Tiffany Cup. The prize? A crystal trophy cup from Tiffany & Co. This year, D.C. United Academy fell to the undefeated West Ham United FC Academy of England in the finals. Diary of a practice: boys lacrosse
Every day from three to five, the boys on the lacrosse team do the same thing. No, they don’t pick up chicks or hold dank bro seshes. They go to Burning Tree Elementary School to get ready to dominate their competition during the upcoming season.
The guys carpool to the school and throw the ball around until the team is ready to start practice. To warm up, they stretch, jog and do various throwing and catching drills like practicing full-field passing.

You’ve all seen him driving his golf cart at football games, but you haven’t seen what athletic director Andy Wetzel does when no one is watching.
5:15 a.m.- Wetzel wakes up and thinks about what he will have to do at work that day.
5:25 a.m.- He begins to take care of his cats, Joy and Granby.
“I have to get out of bed and feed my cats before they drive me nuts,” he says. “If I don’t get up they wake me up by doing laps across my bed.” (continue reading…)
