The Spectator’s 2010 NBA awards
The 2009-2010 NBA season featured surprising trades, emerging players and fading stars. Steve Nash revitalized his career at 36 while Kevin Durant emerged as a star player at only 21. But the regular season is officially over, so it’s time to hand out the hardware.
MVP: Lebron James, small forward, Cleveland Cavaliers
This award is the easiest to determine. James has played out of his mind this season and is the clear-cut MVP. The show is not only factually accurate, but also enjoyable.

Wolfe decided to attend the tryouts on a whim, and was soon playing an unknown sport. Along with fellow seniors Richard Scordato, Ameed Nsouli and Spiros Vonortas, trying to prove his worth on the court caught the attention of some of the other athletes. (continue reading…)

Now that the Redskins finally seem to be making logical personnel decisions with the hiring of new coach Mike Shanahan and General Manager Bruce Allen, the need for patience and consistency should be stressed. Whether the Redskins are truly reforming their ways will become evident in the debate over Jason Campbell: should he start at quarterback next year, or should the Redskins look elsewhere?
Currently, Campbell has been tendered by the Redskins, meaning that another team can sign him only if they can eclipse the current contract offer and give up a first round draft pick. In other words, Campbell will likely be on the roster next season, but not necessarily at the top of the depth chart. (continue reading…)
