    Upcoming concerts this semester

Out with the old and in with the new — musically, at least. Many bands are performing early this year with new singles and new albums, and the Black & White can help you choose the best concerts.

When artists put Auto-Tune in, I auto-tune out
I used to enjoy listening to the radio, but sometime last year I realized I no longer liked mainstream music.  I’ve stopped tuning in because of a despicable music feature: Auto-Tune. Glee, Myself and I: ‘Comeback’
Even though I’m not raging with Bieber fever, Sam made tween heartthrob Justin Bieber look and sound 10 times better than he actually is. Compared to last week's, I liked this episode more because the music was a bigger component, but some plot lines still annoyed me. Glee, Myself and I: ‘Silly Love Songs’
After months of anticipation, Glee finally returned—and despite the classic Valentine’s Day-themed episode,  the themes are getting repetitive and  predictable, and the show doesn’t focus at all on music.  At this point in the show last year, there were barely any inappropriate scenes and the Glee club only focused on what they were going to sing at Regionals. Boy, what a change. (continue reading...)

And the Grammy (should) go to…
2010 was a year of comebacks and uprisings, but ultimately, it was the year of pop.  From Lady Gaga to Justin Bieber, pop music was the soundtrack of 2010.  The Grammy Awards are just around the corner, and anticipation is mounting.  With so many hits this year, 2010 is particularly competitive.  In an ideal ceremony, these artists would receive the awards. Glee, Myself and I: ‘Special Education’
Okay, what?  The majority of this episode was enjoyable, but it was also filled with a lot of weird events.  New Directions (their set list wasn't leaked this time!) competed against two other teams in sectionals. They tied for first place with Kurt's team, the Warblers.  (continue reading...)

    Glee, Myself and I: ‘Furt’
This was my favorite episode yet.  It had just the right amount of drama, jokes, songs and feel-good moments.
