Getting in my car to go to school during the holiday season, I flip the XM Radio dial past “Navidad,” ignore “A Bing Crosby Christmas” and skip over “Country Christmas.” There’s only one station I want to listen to – “Radio Hanukkah.”

Grinch briefly immortalized in ICE!
The Gaylord National Resort hosted the ICE! exhibit at the National Harbor from Nov. 18 to Jan. 9. The exhibit housed a 15,000 square foot walk-through display of enormous, colorful hand-carved ice sculptures that told the story of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The sculptures were carved out of two million pounds of ice, according to Gaylord.

The Black & White online hosted a holiday photo contest. Students and parents submitted photos they took over winter break. Freshman Fionn Adamian won a gift card to a Bethesda restaurant for his photo of St. Paul's Cathedral in England. Congratulations Fionn!

It’s that time of the year again: the holidays (dun dun dun). Awkward family gatherings, forced sing-a-longs, uncomfortable poses for family photos, houses drowned in decorative lights and dressing up in the best holiday gear. Things can get pretty uncomfortable, but it doesn’t have to.
