Robotics wins first district event

For the first time in the 14-year history of Whitman’s robotics team, the Body Electric won a district event during competition season. Despite narrowly missing a spot at World Championships, their season still culminated in a historic victory.

Between AP, the SAT, the ACT and a variety of SAT Subject tests, my junior year has been packed with an alphabet soup of standardized tests. While fitting all these tests has made my life difficult, including all these scores has become an important component of college applications.

Chess club places first in state championship

The chess club won the Maryland State Chess Championship March 25 at Roland Park Elementary/Middle school in Baltimore. The championship was the first and only tournament of the year, making the win even more exciting for the eleven team members.
